About this trial
The study compares the standard chemotherapy regimen (ABVD) with a similar regimen that replaces one drug with brentuximab vedotin, a targeted anti-cancer treatment. Researchers will use PET scans during treatment to tailor therapy to each patient’s response, with the goal of maintaining excellent disease control while potentially reducing the need for radiotherapy and lowering the risk of long-term treatment-related side effects.
Patient Profile
The RADAR study is suitable for 16- to 69-year-olds who have recently been diagnosed with early-stage Hodgkin lymphoma and have not yet started treatment. They are generally well enough to receive chemotherapy and do not have signs that the lymphoma is more advanced, such as significant weight loss, unexplained fevers, drenching night sweats, or a very large tumour in the chest. The study is designed for people with a good chance of cure, and aims to find the most effective treatment while reducing the risk of both short- and long-term side effects.
Where’s this trial being run?
St James’s Hospital, St Vincents University Hospital, and University Hospital Galway
